Well it was painted over the course of three years and with the help of studies and sketches so my guess is - they didn't keep still at all. Also they never all sat together in a room like this.
@nelson kill mice; at least some of them do. It depends on how much you feed them. There's a reason nearly every bodega in NY has a cat or more. The owners might give the cat(s) a treat once in awhile, but at night, those cats might as well be feral.
Doesn't matter how much you feed them cats kill pests for fun anyway! They also have been therapy pets, and held various jobs in their long history of self domesticating.
Even if you paid each one 5 minutes of attention one at a time and only playing with the cats for 8 hours a day. It will take you 292 days to give each one undivided attention just for that small 5 minutes.
That is just way to many cats.
Hell 42 is even to much. I at one point had total 6 cats and 1 dog. I had a really hard time giving all them affection. I tended to forget one a day or two.
But they were all fed and well cared for. Just not much one on one time. Well except 2 who due to their illnesses they had alot of time.
One suffered from social anxiety and PTSD another was mentally challenged. As well as our dog suffers from separation anxiety. But that left 4 cats sometimes taking a back burner.
But sadly we only have 1 cat and our dog. The others we rehomed.
Yes I think that, as much as I love cats, 4-5 seems to be a limit. Right now I have a perfect little princess I love to death and I also very much enjoy the company of my mom's cat. There's still room on my legs for 1 cat but not much more... And I'd hate to have to pay attention to how long I'm spending with each, I like just watching and petting them for 3 hours at a time, without worrying about having other cats to feed or you know, not having any time left for the stuff I have to do.
But at the same time, a woman in my village used to live in an abandoned barn with her 70 cats. She devoted all of her money and time to them because without her, they woud have been homeless and some of them were ill... It's another form of love that I've always had a lot of respect for.
I can understand if you're making a home for homeless cats but if you're just getting cats over and over and letting your cat's breed making more cats just because you like cats that's just going too far.
P.S.
My math was like way off I really should not do math when I'm half asleep lol
it'll take somewhere between three and four days to pet every single cat for 5 minutes each never petting the same cat until after you've pet all of them that is if you only pet the cats for 8 hours a day but no brakes.
And then cats
Lmfao no I want a painting like this done of all the animals I have and ever had.
