More than likely? An aggression problem that’s been masked by their parents making excuses as “boys will be boys” or “they’re just kids” instead of telling them that hurting others is wrong
I was terribly bullied in school to the point where boys would physically assault me. I’d call it assault when they hit my hand with a metal ruler while I tried to write. I grabbed it the next time they tried and said to leave me alone they pulled it so fast they cut my hand across and I bled everywhere. Somehow I still got in trouble and they didn’t. God I hated school
This happens a lot at schools, and the perpetrator is usually just one kid with serious mental health issues. Which makes it hard since the kid is usually already medicated, but still hurting other kids, so it’s not like you can just remove that kid and put them alone. It’s a weird problem.
I used to think I was really being bullied back in middle school, and highschool. Really, all they did was make fun of me, or exclude me, but, I was never really hurt. There were like, 2 exceptions that I remember, but they weren't exactly unprovoked. Just the fact that this shits happening scares the shit out of me.

People with mental problems without easy access to proper health care but easy access to guns in a gun idolizing culture... now THAT sounds like a problem.
