So, at least in my little corner of the world- a lot of the women I know love Wii. Most bought it when it was current and used it for things like Wii fitness trainer and the like or other “active” games- I’ve spoken to several women I know who have very specific games they are interested in for PS VR or other VR- again- largely “active” games they see as fun fitness- but they just don’t want to spend the money on something to play somewhat occasionally and for only a couple games- so they stick with their Wii’s because they do everything they want in a gaming system without fuss or complication and since they already spent the money there’s very little cost.
In a lot of ways, the Wii was never a direct competitor with PS/Xbox. It scratched a different type of itch. That difference between Nintendo and Microsoft/Sony is just growing with each generation.
