You know I bet he didn't even stop to ask children if they were gay before ripping their arms off and devouring them.
.
So hard to find decent socio-political values in our movie villains/monsters these days, I swear
.
Next they'll say Hannibal Lector is hampering the cause of Vegans everywhere.
It's a lack of diverse representation in film villains
Because remember, you're not an individual
You're a member of a group
And that's all that matters
Actually, for that matter (I realize you were probably joking but now my brain is thinking about it).

Norman Bates was at least a cross-dresser. But I'm not sure if that makes him more transvestite or more having a SEVERE identity crises in his case

Grindewald is supposed to be gay, too, isn't he? Or is he the character jk Rowling said could be black this week? Or maybe he's the asexual non-binary Asian.. It's very hard to keep up with what's trending with Rowling this week
1. Because until recently lgbtq+ have either been demonised or completely ignored in a majority of media
2. Corporate media thinks they are an easy marketing group
3. Some people are dumb enough to believe that a corporate entity makes a decision to make something appealing, it serves any other purpose than prying a few more pennies from your wallet.
Well sometimes when they're there for the quotas it shows and I don't even think that helps the cause, because a lot of people find that irritating. However, I'll take a good lgbt+ character any time. Willow and Tara? Yes. Sheldon Cooper? Yes. They need to be written as well as the other characters and they're good if the writers can remember that a whole personality can't stem from one's sexual orientation.
if it's part of the storyline, great, if it helps the characters, great, if it's just because "hey, we don't have any lbgt here, who shall we chose?" not great
