Uhhhhh what do these two things have to do with each other? Like, this doesnt even sound transphobic anymore (unless it isnt which in that case oops), it just sounds confused
Jarred Karal and Ryan Mucaj would probably appreciate it
.
And if you don't know who they are: two guys who were walking through a parking lot on their campus late at night, saying the word a few times to each other (and a third guy) while laughing.
.
Someone happened to be by an open window and recorded them saying it and then reported them with the intention apparently of making examples out of them.
.
Their public lynching is currently on-going with, iirc, them being suspended or expelled, arrested by campus police, and being potential charged with hate-crimes or something similar (I don't remember the exact nature of the charges).
.
And yes, the police "describe them as white." This is mentioned prominently and repeatedly. Presumably because this is walking an extremely dangerous line over censoring free speech so the easiest way to make people ignore that is to get them as outraged as possible I guess
They did indeed. Interestingly if they'd been any other race in the exact same context behaving the exact same way, I'm 80% certain no one would have given a damn.
.
They weren't DIRECTING their comments at anyone (the third person wasn't even arrested because they didn't say anything). They weren't even being overly loud as far as I can tell. A lot of articles describe them as "shouting" but the clip I've seen doesn't read that way.
.
It honestly reads a bit like a bunch of young guys saying a taboo word for shits and giggles and to be idiots. Which is something a lot of people do.
.
Then again, what do I know. Maybe they have a secret dungeon shaped like a swastika under their houses.
.
Either way, supposedly this made people on the campus feel "unsafe" or something. It's been made very clear that they will never be able to make up for THIS particular incident, and examples of them will be made
Became famous?
Become infamous?
What site did this post get stolen from? HL? I.F? Imgur? Reddit? Fuckin' 4chan?
