Charlie's Angels remake flopped bc it was a bland story with no character development whose sole purpose was to say "hey, girls are cool and guys are dumb." I am a female. I am pro-woman. If you have to force a movie to follow a cheap plot just so every female is badass, but only in comparison to their lame-o counterparts, you're not doing women any favors. All these newly released 'feminist' flops hurt the credibility of future female-led action movies and female directors.
Most people I know don't give a crap who directs a movie. They want to see films with strong male leads. They want to see films with strong female leads. Unfortunately a lot of these companies have decided "strong" means "spends a lot of energy belittling men and having no other definable character traits."
