I used to have a shirt that said "bazinga!" Bc I used to be an enormous big bang theory fan as a kid. On one of our trips to Florida we went to a shopping mall and I decided to wear that shirt, and at least 3 people either said to themselves or to me just how much they loved that shirt.
It's not much, but it made me feel happy
When I 8 months pregnant with my son, I was in line at the store waiting behind a man with a cart full of food. All I had was a gallon of milk and a loaf of bread. The cashier suggested he let me go first and he said he couldn't because he was in a rush to get home. So, I stood there waiting and when he finished the lady rang up my stuff and paid for it with a 100 dollar bill in the palm of her hand. And gave me the change. Said it was a gift from the man wanting to express his gratitude for not causing a fuss. Seems the reason he was in a rush to get back home was because his wife was sick. I looked for him in the parking lot, but he was nowhere. That change came in handy because 2 days later my (soon to be ex) husband spent every dime in our account to get computer parts.
I was driving though Nevada on TDY and filled up some stranded hippy's van. She offered me a bag of weed, but I had to decline.
Earlier that day an older veteran payed for my food, which was nice.
I moved recently and my cat keeps going back to my old place. An ex-neighbor who I never knew got my number from the cat's collar and texted me that he was there. Now she texts me every time she sees him, it's very sweet and helpful. Not a complete stranger but she is still going out of her way to help me find the little beast!
So when my daughter was in kindergarten I had to wait in the front of the school to get her.
I met a elderly couple who was picking up their grandson.
This sweet little jolly heavyset woman and her pencil thin balding yet just as jolly husband. A regular Jack Sprat and wife lol
Me being me lol I talked with them.
They told me they were childhood sweethearts. They met when they were both 5 yrs old they were neighbors.
Her grandmother told her never hold a boys hand or she get pregnant and ruin her life.
One day they were sitting on her front porch and he held her hand. She said no and let go. He asked what was the problem? She said now I am pregnant! We held hands and now I am pregnant!
He said I will marry you so we can keep the baby.
So they sat back down and held hands.
The grandmother came out sees them holding hands and yelled at her saying I told you not to go near boys!
He stood up and said don’t yell at her I am going to marry her and we are going to have a baby!
The grandmother said WAIT!!!
The girl said we held hands and now I am pregnant!
So the grandmother had to explain to her exactly how baby’s are made.
And even though the grandmother tried for many years the two still dated and married each other.
They were soulmates and never dated anyone else their whole life.
I think that is the sweetest thing I ever heard.
I decided I am going to tell another story.
When I was 9 months pregnant with my daughter I would walk everyday to the store (Walmart lol) which was just 4 blocks away. (Small town) I did it to try to get the kid out of me lol walking was supposed to help. (She ended up 2 weeks over due)
I was heading to the store walking along a kind of busy back road. There was a in even walk path and I tripped making me drop to one knee.
There was a man on a riding lawnmower and 2 trucks going opposite ways with 2 guys in each truck. So 5 BIG BUFF GUYS came running to me (after they stopped what they were driving).
They all asked if I was ok I told them I am fine but I am 9 months pregnant and can’t get up lol.
I really couldn’t. Two of the guys helped me to my feet while the others picked up my purse and made sure I was ok.
It was so sweet lol
When I told my cousin she was EXTREMELY jealous lol
Thanks @xvarnah these things are always lovely to read.

I have a few because I am a hopeless romantic and adore kind acts, regardless of how small. One of my favourites though is when I was working at my old job, I was cleaning a table near these two older ladies who kept whispering, I could hear they were talking about me so I waited around in case they wanted to ask a question. Eventually they called me over and showed me a photo of an actress and kept telling me how much I looked like her, I told them how much I loved her movies and we started chatting. Turns out it was one of the ladies birthdays and she was hosting her party at my work, so they asked me if I would join them to celebrate. Luckily I was working, so I helped set up her party and the ladies hugged me and we danced together during the night which was really fun. They were so sweet and full of life.
I was having a really shitty day contemplating suicide and sitting zoning out in front of our department, and some lady walked by, I smiled at her, and she walked past. A few minutes later she turned around and asked me if I was okay. I wasn't, but I said I was and thanks for asking (didn't want to bother her) and it really made my day.
Yeah, I am now, thanks. This was probably about four years ago, the feelings still surface now and then but I'm on medication and going to therapy now.
Good good. I'm glad you're doing better now. Hey if those feelings start to bubble up again you talk to someone - me or someone who's better at talking than me (therapist, people on this site, just someone you trust) *gives you cat treat*
You tagged me and that made me smile. :)

(Serious) I saw this post the moment you posted and since then I can't think about anything else. I can't remember any interactions with any stranger and that makes me sad.
My life can't be this hollow.
But deep down I think maybe there is a memory, a happy one but it's not coming to surface.
And when I remember I will definitely update.
.
This has been an eye opener for me.
Thanks @xvarnah
Just because you can't remember doesn't mean it isn't there :) I'm terrible at retrieving memories on command but I know they've happened.

If nothing else you can read the stories of the strangers here and find some joy in those

About 2 or 3 months ago, I was driving to go get some food when I noticed this little old lady walking down the side of the road. Realize it was like 8 o'clock at night and maybe 40 degrees and this old lady was walking down the side of the road in a walker wearing nothing but pajamas and slippers (and a Pepsi Max bottle for some reason) I stopped what I was doing and asked if she needed help. She just mumbled something and I helped her into the car and spent the next half hour driving around the neighborhood trying to find her house. Eventually I decided to head home where my grandparents helped her out while we waited for the police to come. We eventually got the address from her and I headed out, and it turned it out was just down the road. I got to the door and her husband came out and I told him what was going on. He said he'd walk down to our house (I was so twitchy and nervous about the whole ordeal he thought I was robbing him so he had a gun on him the entire time).

He got there and got into the police car with his wife. The police officers called me a hero.
@xvarnah Sorry, I'm late.
The most outstanding one that I just remembered was at my old school a few years ago. I saw a elderly lady as I was on my way to eat and it looked like she was going through a really hard time. She looked tired and hungry. I took out all the money I had on me(I figured she needed it more than I did). Her face lit up but she didn't want to take it and she was really polite. She felt I needed it more since I was a student. After I insisted for a while, she broke down and took it. I was going through a lot that day but I felt instantly happy that I could make someone's day a lil better. I never saw her again but that same day, I got three times more than I gave.

I've never had one interesting interaction, just a lot of tiny ones. Whenever someone says they like my shirt or whatever it always makes my day, so I always make a point to compliment people if their clothes catch my eye.
Also the third tag was mia's boyfriend (idr his name). But for good measure @mialinay
