That depends on the context, of which there is none.
Is the man a Klansmen? Is the woman blocking his way to work or chanting threats? Are they actually friends that decided to stage a photo for the message?
Either way, it should make no difference the gender or race of whoever's involved.
I would disagree. Race DOES matter, gender DOES matter. Ethnicity DOES matter. If these things didn’t matter- why would anyone try to preserve heritage or language? Why would we care who we marry or have sex with? These things obviously matter- the idea they don’t matter is the same thing as saying that if the world was a monoculture that would be fine.
People are the same at our cores but we do have differences. We can’t pretend we don’t, how can we respect and accommodate differences if we say everyone is the same, or the aspects of them don’t have a bearing in how we treat them? We can respect differences, embrace them and include them in our lives and society.
But women treating everyone as though they are the same is not a good path. Because Joe is in a wheelchair, we all need to be in wheel chairs? It doesn’t work. There is a line between treating women like dainty flowers and recognizing that the average untrained man and woman in a fight- the man has certain advantages.
People are always quick to paint the men as the villains when it looks like something's about to get physical.
.
Whatever is happening here aside, the simple rule is: if you're not prepared to defend yourself in a physical confrontation, don't bloody well start one. Because once you DO... you're gonna have to defend yourself.
.
If anyone doesn't understand what I'm talking about, just look up the video of the guy cold-cocking the bitch after she verbally abuses him for several minutes and then hits him over the head with her stiletto.
.
That said... if you're a guy, you're probably better avoiding hitting a woman, because the chances of her twisting it around to paint you as a vicious abuser and her as the helpless victim have sky-rocketed in the last 5 years.

Well... there is certainly a case that a woman who starts a physical fight with a man, or any onlookers, shouldn’t judge the man poorly for defending himself. Really this is true of any person physically less imposing than a person they start a physical altercation with. That said- there is a concept of proportionality to defense, and while it hurts to be slapped for example, it is not proportional to haymaker someone in response. It’s rather sticky and really comes down to the details of any particular scenario- and also philosophy and law.
There is the law as it is, and the law as we wish it were. This varies place to place and state to state- but if a person slaps you 100 times, there is a question of what is appropriate there. You could stand there slapping each other until one relents or escalates- less than ideal I’d say. But is 100 slaps, or preventing possibly more slaps, worthy of an uppercut? Or the question of wether the police were called during those 100 slaps, and those people and regional laws that would argue that one has a primary responsibility to run from the slapper to de escalate and contact authorities. So there are angles to the whole thing as well.
I figured you were supposed to use as much force as it takes to stop the threat.
And any law that mandates retreat or surrender is a law that no free and just society should tolerate.
As a rule, it's better to be judged than carried.
Like I said: it's nice if you pull your punches. Probably preferable. But if any adult goes up and slaps anyone, they should be prepared for the eventuality that that person may well turn around and punch them upside the head. And if they do... the aggressor has no one to blame but themselves.
.
So long as the other person isn't continuing to hit them without provocation, and isn't using lethal force, than:
You asked for it, you got it. Toyota.
.
Bloody sick and tired of people demanding men be victims because poor widdle women can't be expected to be held accountable for their actions. Grow the fuck up you entitled, abusive, sociopaths. (<- The women who think this way, not you).
Lol. No worries. No offense taken or inferred. We can agree that the universal attitude that any time a man is forceful with a woman she is the victim of some wrong- is just false and antiquated.
