Millennials also overwhelmingly live in cities and small apartments (and are thus killing the "family home" industry) so they're not doing that either.
No we just don't buy a bunch of food at once just to let it rot in the fridge.
I also personally buy a lot of non-perishable stuff like dried legumes, canned tomatoes or frozen fruit just so I don't have to worry about it going bad in two days. I know, fresh is always better, but I don't have money to waste on stuff that's gonna go bad soon.

Cheap ramen in bulk packs probably don't count as groceries and there's lot of millenials who rely on that last third of every month.
