I worked on distribution and this sort of thing genuinely happens all the time. People underestimate the forces involved when moving pallets and packing. I once picked up a small pallet with a fork lift that said 200kg (440lbs) from the top of a semi. Turns out the bloody thing was full of horse shoes and weighed closer to 4 tonnes. Fork lift damn near toppled over.
