Varnie is referencing the proverb "A fool and his money are easily parted"
I was referencing the proverb "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush"
The joke was that we finish each other's....sandwiches
Because Varnie - despite being North American - has a properly developed sense of humour she knows of Fawlty Towers
There's a scene in Fawlty Towers where the main character gets a head injury and mixes up two proverbs, and uses the ending above
I think cake was just finishing my unfinished idiom lol. The correct saying is "a fool and his money are soon parted"
`
Edit: oh! I forgot about that part! Lol ffs I need to rewatch that scene

Yes, Varnie is good and all but does she know about Blackadder and Mitchell and Webb.
@xvarnah Here is your prescription: start with Blackadder (series 2), then move to Fry and Laurie, Mitchell and webb, Not the 9 oclock news then head to panel shows like would I lie to you (with the legendary Lee Mack), Mock the week (Franckie Boyle days) and do you like politicians getting roasted? If yes, watch Have I got News for you? (before 2010)
