Maybe the thing is in the difference between sex and gender, like attracted to biological guys or girls + those of the opposite biological sex who identify as the other gender. (genderfluids and agenders can go get fuckeed, but elsewhere)
it might also be something related to the difference between one's ability to develop romantic feelings for someone and one's ability to develop sexual attraction for someone
As someone who falls into this category, why is there a need to label everything? For a while now I’ve just identified as bisexual cause it seemed most fitting but tbh I could care less what you call it.
Idk but studying paleontology I noticed that as a species we tend to reaaally have a thing for over-labelling everything. Even a freaking isolated toe gets its own term... Humans are weird.
Oh, i'm wondering, what's your interpretation of it?

Wouldn't that be just straight or gay??

I don't think they are valid though. The LGBTA Wiki says: "Semi-Bisexual is the "orientation" where one is "bisexual but attracted to only one gender"[1]. It is generally considered satirical and made to mock and discredit the wider LGBT+ community. Semi-bisexual would be heterosexuality or homosexuality depending on the gender one is attracted to, but is primarily assumed to be used by (cisgender) heterosexuals, as an excuse to be in the LGBT+ community". Needless to say it's "not part of the LGBT+ community. This wiki in no way supports this identity and does not accept this identity into the community."

It's almost as if the more absurd something sounds to a regular, half-way sane mind, the more likely it's a hoax and/or troll.
Speaking as an LGBTQ activist of almost two decades I believe everyone is entitled to define their own gender and orientation. If a person lives up to others expectations of that definition is immaterial. You could argue that a virgin doesn't have a sexual orientation because they haven't had sex yet but that's obviously false since most people seem to identify as heterosexuals long before they debut.
That, uh, still kinda just sounds like being gay or straight?
While on the topic of LGBTQIA+ labels, what's your opinion on the mutually-exclusive label of "bi lesbian" or "pan lesbian"?
I basically don't have opinions on labels. Labels are there to communicate something about us so we define them, they don't define us. If someone wants to call themselves something and have a definition of it that's fine by me.
.
*not to be confused with a Demi-bisexual, which is someone who is both demisexual/romantic and bisexual/romantic.
