@nicengelman this is genuinely not me attempting to start anything. This is just an example of some of the shit on this website that I think you may have missed.
.
People here throw out these comparisons and terms like mardis gras beads to topless chicks.
.
Granted it wasn't directed at famousone this time around, but I wasn't kidding when I was talking about the levels of toxicity being displayed by users on this website.
.
And this is part of why I don't see famous arguing with bluelagoon (who isn't a troll btw, and has made a habit out of attacking people that disagree with them) as being the crime to end all crimes.
.
I'm not sure why I'm even attempting this other than You don't seem like an entirely unreasonable fellow. And this isn't meant for you to do anything about it, or even convert you to sharing my opinion.
I haven't been harping on famousone since that whole blowout. He seems to be taking genuine steps to be friendlier to other people, although I'm avoiding any posts that are even remotely political so maybe that helps. And yeah, there's a difference between black humour and saying something that's just outright judgemental, although context might change that. I just really don't like it when every, single, post, turns into some vitriolic political battle and people can't even avoid it, although the past few days have been fairly tame. And believe me, I considered bluelagoon to be just as responsible for the bickering, even though we're both liberals.
its honestly kind of sad @xvarnah all the bots and toxic people on the website
lots of people have left like grimreaper because of it, and i am also just avoiding political posts although i know that @famousone is a nice guy
@nicengelman just to clarify - I wasn't saying you have been harping on famousone since then. I certainly haven't seen so
.
I was just elaborating on some of what I was saying. Famous certainly can get vigorous defending his opinions (and I'd be a liar if I said I don't at times too).
.
And I can agree that seeing discourse occurring on every single post can be tiring as hell.
.
Famous has made attempts to be friendlier in the past as well, but I've witnessed the way people dogpile on him as well. A great many people on the website (or possibly the world in general) have reached this strange point of "you disagreed with my opinion on one issue and now I must liken you to Hitler and set on a fued to pass down through my line for generations."
.
You haven't been back very long so for (probably) better you've missed a lot of it I think
.
Like I said I'm not sure why I even tagged you to this other than I didn't much like the note that post ended on overall
@memesgobrrr unfortunately a lot of the genuinely good users have left. And that can't be chalked up to any one thing in particular.
.
A lack of content; continual disagreements or attacks; suicide; illness; life in general.
.
There are still good people here too, mind you. Some even manage to stay above the fray.
.
[Though I honestly prefer the bots and trolls to the users we have that feign civility while easily being far more toxic than 98% of the trolls combined]
.
And it's fair to avoid the political posts. This is at the end of the day meant to be escapism
.
I think famous gets a bad rap a lot of the time because he has very strong convictions that run more conservative and this website is largely liberal
It sucks because it's not too hard to see this site shutting down entirely. It gets ads and I'd imagine a few hundred people that pass through without registering or anything, but I don't know exactly how much of that is needed to keep it going. I never get on discord so I don't know how many of you guys are on there anymore but at least there's that.
But he is a good guy. Don't have to talk politics with him.
.
Have a question about guns? You could fill a thimble with what he doesn't know about them.
.
Combat medicine. Call of duty (or, hell, video games in general). Dogs. A great many movies. Music (props if it's JT machinima or from video games). Etc etcetc
.
Not saying you need to talk to him either. Just saying. More to him that the political shit we're all neck deep in these days should anyone ever feel inclined
.
.
This website was a good place at the start. I'd like to think many of the users here are worth keeping around
@nicengelman honestly I am technically on both the discord but I barely use them.
.
A lot of the people I see talking aren't even people I recognize. A lot of the time it's dead, or in similar levels of discourse. Sometimes things like OnlyFans are being pushed.
.
Possible it's just not my crowd (I'm not huge on discords to begin with)
.
But yeah, I can see the website running on lifesupport, although I have noticed some new usernames in the crowd lately, and people seem to be trying to post more, which is always helpful.
.
SuperDave used to be more involved but he seems to have taken a bit of a step back from the website over the last few months. Maybe it will go through another sale again, hard to say
It started out crazy bruh then it got better. It's much better when even we disagree we can agree... So disliking being enemies for no fucking reason. I undeclare war.
There's two of them technically, the official server which is younger and was created by Dave:

The unofficial server, which was created by TimeBender iirc and I have no idea who runs it:

To this day it remains the pinnacle of freeform semi-sandbox stealth gameplay. The AI was legendary and still holds up, you have absolute freedom on how to conduct operations, and Sam is as great as ever.
Having a house built isn't the most expensive thing, especially if you're willing to put some work into it yourself and maybe at first furnish it sparingly/with recycled materials. But getting a piece of land to put it on that isn't in the middle of nowhere and doesn't cost an arm and a leg is the issue, at least here in Europe. I've been looking into the Tiny house movement lately and it's pretty great but you still need to shill out tons of cash just to be able to park it somewhere.
Dang idk who's so salty about the tiny house movement to downvote me but whoever you are, get a goddamn life lol. Or maybe it's just my username that triggers some folks.
idk who's downvoting you, but you're right... one of my neighbors is a surgeon and while his house is being remodeled, he has a rollls phantom parked when he oversees what is happening; the car is more expensive than the house, but the remodeling is more expensive than both. Another neighbor used to have a lotus elise, and someone here has a lime green lambo cian (literally just like the lego set, but an actual one).... 2/3 are more expensive than half the houses here. The lambo is the 3rd coolest car I've ever seen after a lambo diablo monterey blue and that lambo in need for speed movie, the black one.
edit above: rolls, not bentley... w/e anyway his remodel is over a mil, and it's going to up everyone's property tax because the way it's done here is based off the avg housing cost... so naturally people are a bit angry.
Yeah, property tax and property value can be real random sometimes. If you're lucky enough to have a store or school or whatever built near where you live, suddenly your property value goes up even if the house itself is a dilapidated hellhole that hasn't been remodeled in 50 years. And what do you a call a person that doesn't bother remodeling a falling apart property but banks on it being in a good location? A landlord! (Just kidding...but really only half-kidding. In my country the housing situation sucks and landlords are sucking the lifeblood out of everyone)
Oh I have my elementary school still within walking distance lol and everyone around takes care of their homes; it's just such a nag. I have freaking Dallas cowboys living down the street. Troy Aikman had a house here I'd visit on Halloween. There is prolly a mavericks player somewhere here... if you know who Beth Van Dyne is; I once crashed a car into her mailbox. (i'd do it again now; at the time i didn't mean it, a cig dropped onto the floor of my car)... that bitch went CRAZY though and started attacking some of my childhood friends when she went all pro-trump, so fuck her; she went off the deep end once elected.
I'm not from the US so I know almost none of those names, but that sounds like a really cool place to live. Except for Beth I guess. I googled her and she has them crazy eyes, lol.
I don't really live near anyone famous but my MMA coach likes to take us outside to run up this long flight of stairs Rocky style, in what is apparently an area where a lot of famous folks live (which you wouldn't guess by passing through, it's a slightly above average looking neighborhood really), and the frontman of a band that used to be huge in like the 90s-00s likes to watch us from his balcony. I've seen some other famous people in the area too but it's so weird seeing them irl because they don't look like they do on TV, so I kinda have to do a double take to confirm it's really them but also not stare too much because I don't want to look like a creep.
if i had an mma coach saying go rocky on some stairs i'ma beat rocky up on those stairs. i've been to Philadelphia and i've ran up and down those stairs and fist bumped the statue lol.. trust me it's cool. One of my college roommates also practiced with the Gracies and taught me so much stuff. I can still hold being choked for 2 min; not that i'd ever need that since I can prevent one thanks to his teaching.
Oh funny story, so I was in the redwoods, was partying with the rb on the team, saw him peg a guy in the face with a full beer... and even he knew not to fuck with my roommate... one night we 3 encountered the full back drunk out of his mind and as both me and my rb friendo are saying the fb doesn't want this, my roommate, from his fists in his hoddie socked him in the nose and broke it. The look on dude's face will forever be seared in my mind.... and I was also drunk at the time. He's one of a few people (roommate) where if they ever need help, I'm hoppin in to my car and inbound.
Hahahahaha what a joke. our valley is evicting thousands of people every month from landlords all over are doubling their rent.
$2,000 a month to rent a two bed apartment (with 5000 down up front)
OR $1200 mortgage+tax+insurance on a house with $0 down……… I think we all got a little confused at one point…..
