I came across a tweet a while back that said something like
"Periodically, liberals rediscover healthy sexual and relationship practices and act like they found the holy grail"
Obviously. Guy's got an agenda. In this case I guess it's about how liberal life styles are the reason for unwanted pregnancies and thus abortions. None of which of course ever happened in "the good old days" (c). Surely he just failed to see the point which is that women are facing more demands and restrictions in this matter than men do. Especially in view of new, way more restrictive abortion laws.
.
As to the sunday prayer tweet he came across a while back: constantly, conservatives loose any interest in precious human life and the god-given rights of tissue lumps the very second this life has left their mother's womb.
.
Also I'm not sure I want to know exactly what "healthy sexual and relationship practices" are supposed to be (or not to be). What I do know for sure though is that forcing two people who made a mistake or had an accident to stay together for the next some 20 years won't do any good for anyone.
Yeah…. There’s nothing healthy or sensible about trapping someone like that- because as history has shown, if you’re “trapped” in a relationship the other party knows they can do whatever they want and you can’t leave, and the other MAJOR issues is that there isn’t any way to really regulate any of it. Like- how many days a year can you be on vacation or a work trip or visiting parents and be out of the house and still be counted as living with that person? We set child support for “deadbeat” parents but when two parents are together etc. there isn’t a legal precedent for how much money you have to contribute to your partner or the baby. There are… too many things. But as to the rediscovery of old chestnuts…
Derp. Of course it works. Men taking women by force and making them their property was a stable and simple system. Forcing the women to rely on men to be able to survive through laws etc. banning or mitigating self sufficiency ensured complete and somewhat self sufficient homes with redundant care. The same way it works to pull out teeth that rot. It isn’t pleasant, but it solves some problems. But… we can usually save rotten teeth. It’s more complex, it takes time and skill and materials and technology- but that’s how this works. Primitive technology and societies that are closer to the point where every day is a fight for basic survival do not have the luxury of perfect, they need what works in the moment. So no shit a lot of hardline conservative traditions work. You can survive on human urine and bugs too. It works if the other option is die, but even if it means more thinking and requires me to navigate a more complex society, I’d rather go get some Wendy’s for lunch than eat bugs
This time is acceptable, rapist shall be forcibly married to other rapist of the same sex whom are homosexual, and men abandoning women to lone pregnancy shall register a sex offenderand denied marriage license to any other.
