Yeah, this really pissed me off. Their excuse was they didn't have at fast acting tranquilizers. What the hell kind of zoo doesn't have fast acting tranqs incase of an escape or something
Even if the guy was suicidal, why would you aim at and kill the only two lions you have instead of shooting more tranqs? Why does everyone want to kill everything?
Oh, trust me, people are mad at him, especially since he still managed to survive. It just makes so little sense as to why they claim not to have any fast acting tranqs and they are a friggin zoo
They may mean fast enough to save his life, a bullet will stop it immediately. And as said before "fast tranquilizers" still take anywhere from 2-5 minutes
Man, that is horrible for everyone. I know a lot of people are thinking, "why not let him die." But he's just a person who suffered from depression and to a point he would do this? The lions who are just being lions.
And lastly the zoo keepers, they take care of those animals daily and to have to put them down in that way is just horrible. Also anyone who was watching. I can't imagine.
They lions are deemed unsafe after eating or trying to eat a human. Of course they're going to try to save the man its human nature just as it is natural for the Lions to try to eat him. All blame should be put on the man regardless
Guest, I didn't say they weren't important. I was stating they were acting as nature intended them to act, to go after what they perceived to be pray. And because of that, they were shot. That is sad, and you're ass.
I am sad for the lions too don't get me wrong, but maybe the zoo killed them so they didn't get a taste for human blood and decide to kill the next zookeeper they saw
Did anybody see The Whole NineYards and The Whole Ten Yards? Repeatedly during those movies the fact that dentists have a really high suicide rate was mentioned. Think back about a year, the last time a lion was killed it was killed by a dentist and caused an international uproar. Wouldn't it be pretty fouled up if this nitwit that attempted suicide and got the lions killed instead was a dentist?
Just another high profile case of lion death. Statistically dentists could be responsible for both incidents. The first for sure, and the second could be. Kind of like Abe Lincoln saving John Wilkes Boothe's brother from being run over by a train.
Do you kill mosquitoes? Do you use anti bacterial cleaners when you clean your kitchen and bathroom? Do you take steps to help your body fight infections? Would you have a tape worm removed if you got one? Do you remove weeds from your yard?
Not necessarily, sometimes people attempt suicide but when they are secued they feel different about it. We also don't know if he was just depressed or mentally ill.
I'm gonna go ahead and be the voice of reason on FS and suggest that maybe the zoo didn't know about the SUICIDE "BID", whatever the THAT is, and took the threat on their visitor's life SERIOUSLY. I mean, wth? Put your precious little selves in THEIR shoes for a second before you come on the internet and complain.
