Clear your cache data. Idk if it's very easy to do that on an iPhone though, try downloading the avast space clearer thing app. It's pretty useful for getting rid of all your junk, and aftwerwards you can always delete it.

My father's year old iPhone's display broke (not because he dropped it or anything, a big yellow stain appeared on it, under the glass) a few days ago too. I told him that I think the timing's a bit sketchy but he just said "Nah, can't be related." He had it fixed though.
