Maybe also some assistance with developing healthy coping skills and specific therapeutic interventions if trauma has been part of your depression... but nature is also cool

Depression can only be managed by medication and therapy. Although being surrounded by calm settings such as this may have a small therapeutic effect, it's not in itself an antidepressant.
Yes that is true, medication is not a silver bullet panacea. That's why there are so many different types. The same ailment suffered to the same degree in a different person may prove unresponsive to the same medication.
However, it has been shown that closely monitored medication tailored to the individual, coupled with a comprehensive therapy program has the best success rate over other forms of treatments.
It keeps me calm to an extent, it doesn't help much if I'm up against certain types of bladed weapons though since they trigger my anxiety. In a nut shell I have a mild form of ptsd so I try to avoid those items if possible.
