The only reason I have Evanescence's live album is for the song that was used in the credits on the DVD. Fortunately, the live performance is actually pretty good.
Yeah, sometimes, but not always, and that's not even the point. The main point is to go and see your favorite artists live and in person, and, in the event that you're at a punk rock show, meet them and actually talk to them a little. I remember my first show when I was, like, twelve, and I got to meet the band, and when my dad told them it was my first ever show, the singer was super cool and I got some free merch out of it. It's one of my favorite memories.
I know this is an old post but, I went to two of Disturbed's shows a couple of years ago and they were amazing. David had no problem with the vocals, he sounded exactly like the recorded version.
It depends! There are a handful of classic live albums, like Cheap Trick's "Live at Budokan" or "Frampton Comes Alive." I think being at a concert adds a lot to the experience, though.
I mean yeah, a lot of artists just aren't meant to play live because their music is heavily edited. In some cases though bands like Linkin Park played shitty concerts for their first few years but got a LOT better.
I went to a concert and the band sounded awesome live but it was the concert itself that rocked. It was video game themed and the stage was a giant old school arcade game. Every song was a different level. Half way through they played Street Fighter on the stage/arcade game. They came out on stage to a “Choose your player” menu option and when they were “chosen,” they were shot out of the stage. Favorite concert ever
Coheed & Cambria and Between the Buried & Me are two bands that put on an AMAZING live show. BTBAM in particular (watch the drummer), I don't know how they play so perfectly with such complexity.
