Huntsmens are fun to try catch though, you spend a good 10minutes playing chase the spider round your house.
The best part about them is that they eat all the nasties that do try to kill you

What is that kangaroo holding? It kinda looks like a dead emu, but I don't see a head (Unless it ripped it's head off)

Most of these things keep out of your way. Living in Australian city the only ones you really have to watch out for are the ants and spiders.
