None of us here will ever get close to being a billionair. So let's break it down to a million. If you combine everything you will be earning in your entire life, excluding tax and living charges, such as living space, energy aso, it is still very likely that you will never reach 1 million $. This said, billionairs are so extremely rich, that neither them, nor the following generations would have to work a single day and still would be able to live in luxury. In the same time others are working hard every day and can't afford treatment by a dentist. This is wrong on so many levels. I'm not saying they should give 10k to 100k people and then be broke, but they should show enough solidarity to the community and system which allowed them to get that rich to generously support those in need. And I'm not talking about selective solidarity by founding a foundation that only supports e.g. schools or sports or a hospital. The only way to achieve such solidarity is simple and rigorous taxation.
I think we’re also overlooking that so many people with lots of money DO donate a LOT and give back to their community. That’s why you see parks and schools and all kinds of community things with donor’s names on them.
Most billionaires really are hilariously generous. Even the Koch brothers have donated over $1 billion. Now... if that's more about putting their name on a monument, tax incentives, or just for the collective good, I don't know, I'm not a mind reader. I think though, that it's a combination of all three.
They may be generous, but that's selective solidarity. Founding a new school or library might be a good thing, but doesn't help e.g. the hospital that needs nurses. They shouldn't be deciding where the money goes imho.
And who does determine where the money goes? The government? Give me a break. If I had that kind of money, you bet your ass I want to be in charge of where the money goes.

I'd imagine it's because people with that kind of money usually spend it on expensive cars and houses and generally blow through that money to maintain their lifestyle.
Like, I feel I would settle for an average house, reliable car, and overall normal life just with more games and consoles so maybe I would be able to be that charitable, but not so much everyone else.
This has to be the stupidest thing I've seen in a while. Sure 10k isn't alot to a billionaire but what makes you worthy of getting their 10k. And if you get 10k what about the next guy or the next hundred, thousand or million guys. Are they worth less than you? Who decides who should get the money? It's obviously not the billionaire since they haven't given their money to you already. If they don't give their money out voluntarily will you take it forcefully? That's called theft. You can couch it in whatever terms you like but if you redistribute a law abiding citizens wealth without their willful consent you're stealing their money. Instead of complaining about it how about working to make you worthy of getting that 10k instead. Now I get it. Everyone would like money just to drop into their laps but most people would blow through that money in a heartbeat and be no better off than when they started. That's the problem with any windfall and the reason 1/3 of lottery winners go broke.
I would never never give any amount of money to anyone who has the guts to think I HAVE TO give them my money.
Doesn't matter they have 10 or 100 zero in their bank account, it's their money and you have no right to ask for it.
If they give you, even just a cent, be thankful.
If they don't, don't be a bitch as it's not your to take
