I looked it up, and the full title is, ‘I found out today one of my Northern friends had never seen it even heard of the Chimichanga outside of Deadpool’.
Apparently, a Chimichanga is a tortilla wrapped around a (usually) meat filling and is deep-fried.
I'd heard of them from a couple places and had a vague idea what one was but never seen or really fully understood what they were. The plate on this post looks much like what I imagine a heartattack to look like
I’m from Australia and I can safely say that I’ve never heard of a chimichanga before. My first guess would have been that it’s a type of children’s toy.
I've read that the Chimichanga (most of them are much smaller than this one, BTW) was invented in Arizona by an American who was inspired by Mexican cuisine. Not sure how common they are outside of the US. (FYI, done right they are delicious!)
