I know that this is meant to evoke deep feelings, but as an artist I can't get over their facial expressions - his in the first and hers in the second panel. They look like they're mocking the other. The hand gestures don't help either.

@m There's a great book that might help you and your friend's wife. It was written by several grief counselors in the seventies, so it's super old. Someone I barely knew gave it to me when I was going through a very hard time and, even though it is dated, it helped me more than anything or anyone else. It's called, "How to Survive the Loss of a Love" and I cannot recommend it enough. Hang in there! Life is going to suck for a while and you guys will get through it.

Mmm... first. Im sorry for your loss which it is the main thing. Second for everyone else, I understood it as just the wife of M's best friends lives whith M or M's family now. Maybe even from before ir just needed support. At least she has people to lean on so she is not alone to cope.
