I do and dont like watching shows and movies alone.

You can skip ahead if story is moving slow,
No awkward moments like when characters make out or have sex,
No having to wait for the someone so you can start the next episode,
No pausing for other people because they need the bathroom or want a snack,
Sad moments you can get snot noise crying and not worry about someone asking/laughing at you AWWWW you crying?,
You can rewind if you missed something,
You can watch on your phone instead so you have the screen close (I have bad eye sight)
Con
You have to wait for the other people so you can watch the next episode,
You have to pause if they want to get up,
You can't rewind unless everyone wants to,
There is a chance someone will go ahead,
You are forced to watch on the TV and you cant always control volume,
I like subtitles on all my shows and movies but when we watch as a family no subtitles allowed.
.
Honestly the only good thing about watching together is you can talk about it
I forgot to add I personally can never go see a movie alone lol I may seem super sure of myself but I need someone with me. It is much more fun to see a movie with others.
.... 4? 5? I mean- some movies are made better by company, and especially re watching movies you often do to share something you loved or an experience and the most joy comes from knowing they are watching- but when it comes to watching a movie I’ve never seen- it doesn’t usually matter much. I mean- I don’t believe in talking during movies unless it’s an MST3K kind of deal. I WATCH movies. So wether you’re there or not we aren’t talking about it until it’s over. Wether we watched together or apart we can still discuss it- so waiting until we get to the car or waiting until we meet/talk later- not a big difference to me.
*update- in context to the post I realize this is likely referring to the movie theater. As soon as I was old enough to go alone- if there was a film I wanted to see and I had money or a way in- I’d go wether alone or not. But from my earliest memory I was fine with the concept and didn’t even find out until I was 20 or so there was a stigma to going to a theater alone- and didn’t understand that concept. If I want to eat somewhere I’m going to do so- because I want to- alone or not. Go for a walk, travel, watch a movie- I’m not going to let the fact someone else isn’t around, or that the someone there doesn’t want to do the things I want to- stop me from enjoying my life.

13 i watched alien for the first first time and didn't sleep for a few days after
Yeah, I think this is referring to going to the theater alone. Almost every person on Earth has watched movies alone since they were children, given that your parents don't want to watch Disney flicks 7 times a day. There's no stigma to watching a movie at home by yourself so there's no need to justify it.
That being said, I feel lonely going to the theater by myself, but it's nice being able to absolutely destroy the popcorn with butter and that weird orange salt.
When I finally went to a movie by myself. I could go a bit early, get the best seats in the house, talk to myself (quietly of course) like I always do bc it's a bad habit of mine, crack some jokes and make myself laugh, and just overall have a good time.
Yeah I know those last few points sound a bit sad, but I can never do those things with my family bc they always want me to be perfectly quiet, so I have more fun making jokes to myself during a film
