Man, this just gets funnier every year it’s been said since like 1960. Food for thought: if virgins were such a big thing- none of us would be here right now. Perhaps we just tend to view history through rose tinted glasses regardless of the year...?
I imagine if Dracula were really this hard up for virgins there's a decent market of males he's failed to harvest. If he's not tapping that yet, then the crisis can't be all that bad
Yes. The existence of certain political subcultures lends great credence to your theories. Even that not withstanding- how bad would the world have to be that Dracula couldn’t even find a virgin under 18? There’s no solid lore that vampires can’t feed on children. Rice and others have held various prohibitions to turning children- but certainly a vampire like Dracula wouldn’t starve to death when faced with a potential moral quandary over feeding on the underage any more than a starving human would turn their nose up at veal?
Yeah. I loathe the notion of virginity. Especially since 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 8 boys will be sexually abused by the time they reach 18.
Beside all that, studies show the millennials are are waiting longer for sex and engaging fewer partners than previous generations.
Woot. AND then let’s not forget there is nothing wrong with keeping ones virginity nor is there anything wrong with “losing” it through informed consent. I suspect whatever play this joke might make of a notion of modern promiscuity it overlooks the fact that even IF adults have higher numbers of sexual partners or more frequently change sexual partners than previous generations (dubious by the facts...) that STILL would have nothing to do with the number of virgins since for the purpose of “virginity” there is no effective difference between one partner once, one partner 100,000 times, or 100,000 partners once each. Ironic considering Dracula and vampires at large are often at least in part stand ins for elements of sexuality.
Well said.
And, I agree, there’s nothing wrong with choosing not to have sex, or to have sex. It’s just the notion of virginity that I abhor. It’s riddled with shame. (And vampires)
