I'm still looking for a song I heard on the radio back in the late eighties. All I remember is a female singer and a bit of the lyrics; ".. Because I'm falling and I can't see you smiling. Laughing and falling until I hit the ground"
Holy crap, THANK YOU! I can't believe I heard that bit of lyric accurately at 12yo and kept it in my brain for all these years. Bit of a crazy experience hearing it for the first time in 30 years. This made my day!
Yeah I feel you! I used Shazam to figure it out you just type in a lyric and it pulls up the songs that match. Sadly, I had a song like that and I searched everywhere for it only to realize it probably was just misheard.
Happened to me but with a movie instead, watched it once when I was young and the movie was stuck in my brain ever since. All I can remember was that there was a giant snake, a house that can fall at any moments, leeches and some dude was chasing these kids. For years I searched the movie until I was over at a friend's house and she wanted to watch a movie called A Series of Unfortunate Events, that was the happiest day of my life.
So, where I live there's this radio DJ who's got an encyclopedian knowledge of everything music related. Every day on his show there's a segment where he helps his audience with this sort of thing and it's amazing.
It's not supremely easy to get on the radio, but it's allmost a guarantee you'll find it if you manage to get on the show. You don't even need the lyrics, if you can just humm along for a good enough while it might be enough.
