Last night I slept with my phone and inch from my ear because my mom went into the hospital with a possible stroke. They think her cancer spread to her brain but they are not sure. So I stayed up as long as I could but passed out front he stress of it all. It was 6am when I heard my phone ring and I answered it in less than 1 ring.
Stuff like that is why I never put my phone on silent
They sent her home last night which is a good sign. If it was serious they make her stay for observation. But she isn't out of the woods yet they are sending her to her cancer doctor to do tests. She supposed to go soon.
My phone is on silent at all times. If I accidentally trip the ringer and the phone chimes/rings I get so confused because I haven’t heard it in so long that I don’t know where the noise comes from.
That said, I’m cursed with quite delicate sleep. If someone calls me in the middle of the night, even on silent, it will wake me.
If you are important enough to me, you have my home phone number, so if it's that important, call the damn house phone.
I kind of feel sorry for this next generation; 95% of you all will never know the freedom that comes with cell phone detachment. I don't mean like a day or two, I mean... like... they don't fucking exist.
If I’m at work or asleep my phone is on dnd. Sure I can sleep through an earthquake and WWIII but I’m not tempting fate by leaving the ringer on for someone to tell me “Johnny didn’t get me roses and blah blah blah”
