Yes. Science and culture have of course progressed since then. In their day, you did not survive the process, which anyway was generally done after death. By using a hook to pull it out through the nose. In modern times many people have figured out ways to not only survive, but to be quite successful without a brain- further validating the Ancient Egyptian belief that the organ wasn’t of great importance.

Yes. I think this is more a coincidence than a case where the Egyptians pyramids looking like pyramids of the Aztecs is telling tribute to their magnificent telescopes or satellite imaging. It’s certainly neat- but from shapes in cloud to fractals and Fibonacci spirals- we can find similarities all over nature.
