You can 3D print basically anything with the right printer

But, it's unlikely this person's father has access to that kind of technology, or even that that technology exists. Hence, we should assume that the elephant isn't wooden.

It most likely just appears to be wood and is some other material

Nope, wood can't be 3d printed, it's only some certain type of synthesized carbon compounds

@creativedragonbaby yep 3D food printing exists but the mechanism of food printing and printing a solid and rigid object is vastly different

I've come to the conclusion I have absolutely no idea how 3D printing works. One of you experts should post a good video on it - I'm curious now.

Essentially, the material is heated to soften it up and lines are made to build it up. You can’t really “melt” wood

They do have "wood" filaments that can be sanded, stained, and otherwise worked like wood

Which is why I said it appears to be wood but is probably something else

Maybe it was carved?

Why would they say 3D printed then?

This post has turned out to be far more controversial than I ever anticipated

@creativedragonbaby Ok maybe I do know something about 3D printing. That is how I thought it worked, and obviously wood isn't melt-able/malleable, so then I was confused about how it could be 3D printed. @hattricks1995 That makes sense, but it would have to be a low percentage of "wood" and mostly glue/whatever holds it together. @xvarnah sorry, I didn't mean to cause all this trouble! lol
