I'm usually pretty understanding, and I often even disagree outright (I loved the Lost finale) but I've never felt as assfucked as I did by the final season of Game of Thrones
I can finally chip in on Harry Potter since I JUST finished reading the books and the movies (I know, I'm a bit behind). I love the books, but I thought the movies sucked and I don't know why anyone would watch them again. Also, LOTR is almost 20 years old already?! I remembering staying home from elementary school because I was sick and watching the first two, then staying home a second day just so I could watch the third one.
Completely agree on the movies, I managed to make myself watch the first 4 then had to give up because they are so terrible and miss out loads of great storylines in favour of what is now crap CGI broom flying
GoT died bcz there was no good way to end it..
It would've either been too expected... Or too f***'d up..
And considering how the show went over the years with shocks and twists.. I'd say it's a fair ending.. not a good one but fair to the show..
The problem with the show is it lost a lot of the early foreshadowing that was present in the books, and thus a lot of the character choices make little sense. Danerys going Mad-Queen is completely nonsensical in the show, but in the books the signs have been there since very early on that Danerys isn't as in control as she seems to be.
