For Mario Kart Wii, it depends on which track. Funky Kong + Flame Runner is the best overall and my main when playing normal tracks, but I use Daisy + Mach Bike in CTGP because it's modded player made maps and they're harder so I sacrifice a touch of speed for a lot of drift. Manual always!

Donkey Kong most of the time, Dry Bones or Boo once in awhile.

It depends. Solo race? Yoshi. Vs mode? Yoshi. Team mode? Yoshi. Fighting over who gets to be yoshi? Pick yoshi, go to the previous screen, move the cursor so he can pick yoshi, go to previous screen, now we can both pick yoshi.
