So not liking your circumstances makes you a "lil bitch"? Not everyone had a perfect childhood without trauma. Some people just had worse lives than you. There's no reason to be rude about it. Consider yourself lucky that you don't have to take medication just to get through the day.

I went to sleep for dinner and heard gunshots on the daily. I'd walk down the street and see blood on the sidewalk and knew whose it was. There's a reason it's called survival of the fittest.

Please, i sure didn't have a perfect childhood. Im not going to go into details. I've gone over some of the things that occurred on this site before. My issue isn't necessarily with those who need meds to function its with illicit drugs. Illicit drugs are a crutch and deterrent to bettering yourself. Imo escapism through drug use is counterproductive. Face reality and get stronger.

I don't drink alcohol, don't take drugs prescription or other, don't go to a therapist. I have horses, I can't afford that other stuff. Before you accuse me of a comfortable life, I give you first child born 12 weeks (3 months) early, breast cancer, divorced parents and abusive older sister. Life is what you make it, and sometimes finding the positive takes actual personal effort.

My wife is a breast cancer survivor as well. It was a rough time. How long you been dealing with it?

For some people having horses is expensive though. For me it would be. Depends on where you live, but good that you can and you have something positive to direct your energy when needed.

pokethebear I'm 5 years past, annual mammogram and ultrasound. It was pretty rough for the first 2 years; 5 months of chemo then 8 weeks radiation. My left arm is a little swollen with lymphodeama as I had to have a full clearance. My hair grew back straight which was annoying, I had hoped it would grow back curly lol. Positive: between drugs and surgery I slid through menopause without noticing it.

Congrats on being done! Lymphedema is very common. If you can get a sleeve to manage it or so it's not worse.

Wow, my wife was same duration of chemo and radiation treatment but went from straight hair to curly. Double mastectomy (not eligible for reconstruction), radical hysterectomy, menopause, osteoporosis, intestinal damage from chemo, and pretty severe shoulder tendon damage from radiation. Been 7 years. Sad that any of you have to endure that.

I glad you were able to keep on keeping on though. Some people lose ambition, drive and hope.

That I can fully understand. Still working to recovery drive and ambition.

No drugs because probably won't work on me: resistant to opioids, irregular heart beat so no crack / cocaine, allergic to hemp (marijuana) and hopps (in all beer), drive 80 mile commute daily so can't do hard liquor, no friends, no hobbies, work ~90 hrs a week, just so down that suffering makes up my bones. I can only move forward if I bring it with me.

I'm sorry you had to go through that. Do you want to talk about it?
