Actually!
This guy knows exactly what he got into.. I don't remember his name, but he got diagnosed with terminal cancer, and since he's like.. let's do all the things that could potentially kill a human being, because I'm gonna die all the same.
Tl,dr: don't grab blue ring octopuses, you might die, unless you are gonna die
no he didn't, was a tourist visiting Australia, i remember the news article about it and how after posting on social media was quickly informed how lucky they were not to have been killed by it.
Living where those little guys live, it's like #1 rule at the beach. Don't touch Blue Rings, you will die. Don't touch Blue Bottles - you will die. Just don't touch anything at the beach that isn't a shell but also there's this shell that can kill you so. Don't touch anything.
First rule of nature: if it's colorful it's probably venomous (or poisonous? What's it called when the poison is secreted through the skin?). Unless it's birds I guess.
I mean yeah but you don't even have to bite it, you just touch it and the poison goes through the skin directly. What would that be called?
My instinct tells me venomous would be more fitting because the poison gets absorbed via a different kind of contact than eating the thing, but most websites say poisonous when it comes to for example the small colorful frogs so idk. English is weird.
I think it's that venom has to be put into you by the creature injecting it, most often by fangs or stinger. Poison covers pretty much every other case, whether it's contact poison, poison in certain organs, some sort of expulsion, or whatever else you can think of.
