This is from 2017 and has since been recalled if anyone is concerned.

"Popular Book Company Canada (an unfortunate name for a company that is presently quite unpopular) first said it would revise the “Complete Canadian Curriculum Grade 3” book in later editions. But revision was not enough, because, duh! Now the Ontario-based company will recall the book, per a statement released on Facebook."

I'd provide a link but the website auto-deletes all the text if I do so you're stuck with googling the text if you want to know
For the record I didn't downvote either of you, but it seemed to me karlboll may have been taking your joke seriously. And even if not someone else might, and then someone else would have to defend Trump's honor, and before you know it we'd have worked our way into a fuss
The more peaceful tribes were accommodating when the first Europeans arrived and even helped the new settlers. It's only later that they came to regret letting the white man establish new and expanding colonies.
It’s this type of reframing of history that has lead weak and stupid men to believe it’s their destiny to have a valued place is society. Then try to enforce it with violence when reality makes it clear they won’t be handed it. This is not benign.
Textbook companies are, essentially, the creators of history. The present, frame, and interpret the material for the younger generations, warping the historiography.
You know, when I first came to this country, everyone was all "Hey stop taking our lands, don't hunt here, stop feeding off our children's nightmares." But now, everyone agrees that I'm perfectly nice and that they should just give me what I want so that I don't make the sun go away forever.
Yeah. I hear that. It’s 75 paragraphs just that one sentence.
Im super annoying though, so: Polite means polished to smoothness. A decent working definition of good manners is kindness in all situations. Throwing a sheet over reality doesn’t make it smooth or polished and it’s not kind to anyone.
It’s not even kind to the shielded group. People are people. Teaching history with lies (of commission and omission) and distortion makes people delusional about what narratives are likely, and what they should expect. Teaching people how humans have been and what we’ve done is necessary for us to craft narratives outside our own experience. Otherwise, why bother taking school time to learn history? Except now the view of humans and society is wrong. Garbage teaching of reality in; garbage understanding of reality out.
