WW2 is no taboo topic in Germany. Actually it is widely discussed, it's a topic in history and politics classes from grade 5 and on and there's barely nobody who won't talk about it for a moment at least. The only annoying thing is when Germany gets limited to WW2 and Octoberfest, there's so much more about country and people, before and after.
In Brasil, 7-1 has heavily influenced their language. They're using it to describe things that are shitty, or going totally wrong. Which is almost the contrary of a taboo.
"How was work?" - "7-1"
"Does your back still hurt?" - "7-1"
Can't speak on the Saudis but, of the people i talked to, Chinese people don't hold much against the Japanese. It's more the governments that are at odds with eachother.
Okay? What's your point? If you go to china and talk about japan they don't have a comeapart. They don't necessarily like the japanese, more because they're competitors in the economy and militarily, but they also don't hate them
