The President is imprisoned within the Lincoln Statue, along with all the former Presidents. They are powering the Lincoln Prime, and soon he shall awaken. It is up to the Vice Presidents to free them.
I’m not supporting the guy- but I also try not to be overly bias in anything. So- here’s something to watch out for no matter what your politics etc: in 2019 it is just as likely that the person doing this is NOT a trump supporter- but making fun of Trump supporters, or creating propaganda. See- some popular tools in information warfare at the moment include “false flag” operations and other tactics of posing as a person from the opposite camp to discredit them, or setting up others to look bad.
Humor is another weapon of the modern information war. Many conservatives for example take offense at shows like the Colbert Report- but that is a mild example compared to the common tactic of the alt right and far right or various political groups in using humor- like memes- as a cloak for political ideology and messages.
This not only helps expose people to ideas and information in a context they are more likely to be receptive to- but allows one to defend criticisms or analysis by saying “it’s just a joke!” Or “geez- don’t get political. This is a joke.” To derail discussion of content. One can also distance themselves from the message by saying they were “just joking” etc, AND use any pushback as evidence of “censorship” or “oversensitive PC culture” etc.
It’s important to be aware of this now of all tiles especially. It may not be new- but it’s a popular and effective technique, and “humor” or “satire” has certain protections which can and are used to avoid liability or other potential consequences of spreading rumor or slander.
So is it entirely possible that this was done by Trump supporters? Sure. But it could equally be a joke or an actual attempt to spread a perception of Trump supporters. Which- even as a joke it propagates the impression of Trump supporters as uneducated.
Most Trump supporters I actually know? They are educated, wealthy, and in the higher ranks of corporate management and ownership. They do not support Trump because of his promises to “blue collar” every persons- or because the coal industry is directly relevant to their business or even the part of the country we live in. They supported Trump because (any possible racism besides etc.) they believe(d) that he would do things that benefit them- deregulation, corporate programs, tax breaks etc.
It may be funny or comforting to think that only uneducated morons could support someone who you believe is the embodiment of wrong in most regards- but America needs to wake up on that one. You ant write off every Trump supporter as an idiot because that’s not realistic. That lulls you into false security the same way many laughed at his running for office on the fact he’d never get elected.
The truth is less funny and more terrifying. But at least it’s truth. My overall point is that whichever camp you are in on any issue, creating stark divisions and adversity, generalizing and dehumanizing those who think differently- even if you believe they are wrong- is dangerous on many levels and ultimately creates more conflict and prevents working together or coming to common grounds and compromises.
Could have been a trump supporter. Could have been anti-Trump. Could have been a troll looking to prey on people that would take this too seriously.
.
Could have even been a random illiterate person who, in one of the most serendipitous events of all time, found this stamp and used it at random on this note, unaware of the unending drama they were spawning on the interwebz.
.
We will almost assuredly never have the answer. It impacts nothing except to draw into question the whole "United" part of the country's name.
Well said. That is the difference between a “joke” and propaganda. Wether you believe this was done by the left or right- if it were a joke we would simply laugh and it would not influence our opinions or thoughts otherwise. If it reinforces a belief we have- it isn’t “just a joke.” In a “joke” it wouldn’t have any real world relevance who this person was or what they believed because- at most we would laugh either at the absurdity, or at the person themselves.
We can’t blame the “left” or the “right” for this action without ourselves becoming the very same- slingers of misinformation. Because we have no factual basis for any assumptions we make about who did it- nor does the actions of a single person reflect upon an entire group. When we draw assumptions- those assumptions tend to say as much or more about us than they do about what we are observing.
The fool assumes the “other side” is crooked. If you are going to assume- the intelligent assumption is that on sum total no one group is “better” or more “moral” or “intelligent” than any other. Case in point- the “left” will tend to assume this is the work of the “right” and vice versa- and neither side has any proof. They are guilty of the same generalizing and the same blind indictments. Both are logical fallacies which shows us that some percent on either side are prone to bias- a conclusion this experiment isn’t needed to prove but illustrates well.
