I’d rather live a comfortable and relatively anonymous life than be famous for having a lot of money

i think what really matters your perspective on life. do you look and say i want the life of Kanye and Kim or do i want a life-like Carl and Ellie from up. a guy that sells balloons for a living doesn't make shit for money but i bet he wouldn't trade his life for all the money in the world. and if he had all the money in the world he would have traded it all for just one more day with Ellie.

2000$ back on Jesus's time would probably alone be equivalent to a million dollars...

Those 30 peoples wealth comes from investments, not cash. Most only get paid a few hundred thousand a year at best and have very little in the way of cash on hand. If you made $2000 an hour and choose to invest in the stock market, realestate, or businesses you could become the single richest person to ever live.

I see no problem.

Yes this repartition of wealth is concerning to say the least. I mean you have people to poor to live and others with mmore money than they can spend. And put like this the amount of money they have seems really surreal.

If you're stronger, you win. If you're smarter, you win. That is the world of finances. Some play fairly, others don't. Either way, the poor will always be there and so will the rich. Our focus shouldnt be about who has what but who needs what. If you have some to share and someone needs then give it.

We're mostly on the same line. While I understand that it factually works like that, my focus is already on who needs what. I try to give to the homeless, I've given money for Australia two weeks ago, but I just have trouble wrapping my mind around the fact that people with so much to share keep it for themselves and see others die without being bothered.

Well, I haven't done much research but some millionaires donate and what they donate once is what we could donate in a lifetime. I think you're thinking more naturally then most @purplepumpkin considering what you said. It's also easy to get greedy when you see that you could have all you've ever wanted.

Doesn't account for inflation.

Most of their net worth is in assets, investments, and the company. The amount of money that they actually have to spend is nowhere near as much.

So you're over 2000 years old and have just as much work experience, and you're still not WINNING yet

If you can support yourself and your own, you're winning

Even if it's at the expense of a healthy society?

I like famousone's perspective and also xvarnah. Though the idea of "winning" financially can kill you. How much time and effort did they put into their wealth? How much are you willing to sacrifice?
