A lot of bibles actually have really thin pages due to having to produce so many and because the book is so large so they do that to cut down costs. The paper is only a little thicker than your average rolling paper
Sadly using the Bible paper for rolling paper is not a new thing she invented.
The Bible pages have been used to roll cigarettes way back even in the old west.
The pages were perfect thin and cost less than regular rolling paper.
There was one man who moved to my hometown after the Alamo ended. He was quoted to saying to the preacher of the town church “If you have any old worn out bibles I would take them off your hands. I like to read God’s words before I smoke.”
Lol it wasn’t till much later did the preacher realize the man was using the pages as rolling paper. But he was true to his word he read each page before rolling it.
Can someone explain to me what the sudden influx of religious posts is all about? Like did neingag have a clash of Christians recently? I don't mind the posts but the quantity is getting out of hand
Just if you were interested, the line about women submitting to their husbands is directly followed by how men must love their wives as Christ loves the church. Aka giving of his life fully, even to death. So, it's easy to get confused out of context but the point is that husbands and wives should simultaneously serve and love each other more than they serve and love themselves. If only one or neither partner does it, it would be wrong, maybe even dangerous. (In the Catholic Bible, not sure about other versions)
Look, they clearly have an agenda to push, and if you're going to get in the way of that with ridiculous things like reading comprehension, we're going have to ask you to leave
@cheesecrackers is correct in what they are saying. It would be ridiculous not to take context into account. Otherwise anyone could twist any verse to mean what they want it to mean. In order to find the true meaning of what is being said (in any historical record- especially the bible) one has to understand the context and the intention of the work.
Blah, context shmontext, religion isn't about accurately interpreting texts in the context they where written in. It's about picking the out the bits that can be bent to agree with your prejudices.
No religion is about using your belief in a higher power to help with your ability to cope in modern society where the only sure thing we know about the after life is that you die to get there.
It is racist sexiest dick wades who use religion as an escape goat for why they act like assholes that make being in a religion means you are hateful and/or an idiot who follows sheep to slaughter.
@handryyetti you don't need to apologize for anything lol. I was making a joke to begin with and I was making a second joke after, and context often gets lost on the interwebz.
