I agree with the first part, but she's not a brat. She is trying to hold people and industries accountable for the damage that they have done. She's trying to literally save the Earth before it's too late.
She is literally a child who loves the world she lives on and wants to keep it alive. I think as adults we can appreciate she's doing more than most of us have done in our lifetime rather than insulting her and her family. I agree that a mass group of pedophiles, majority being celebrities and politicians is an extremely important problem though and needs more addressing.
No, but OCD, depression, and selective mutism are.
She hasn't done Jack shit. Yell at adults and accuse everyone of stealing her "future"? Turn vegetarian and start traveling by ship to cut down her carbon footprint? She's still importing her bananas and her crew is flying home.
Nevermind that the kid's a dropout.
Really, by every metric my little sister has achieved more in life by making it to senior year, and more for the environment by not having a crew or servants.
There's also the fact she has no education or training as a climatologist and is simply being used as a mouth piece to propagate the climate debate in order to stop the debate (You're not going to bad mouth a kid, right?). The whole situation screams of brainwashing and abuse and should not be stood for. You want to help the environment, fine, good I'm all for it. But to march this uneducated child up on stage to spout your arguments for you is not the way to do it, that's just going to put people's backs up and not accomplish anything.
I don't agree with everything she does or some of the ways she's brought issues up, in fact I think the general issue she is trying to bring to light is more important than her. So I'm more in support of what she's fighting for rather than her as a person. If I had to pick somebody to get behind ( not that I need a "mouth piece", but considering I'm not in a position of power or of much influence my words or actions don't mean much to the general public) I'd pick my guy David Attenborough. What would you suggest is the best way to promote change?
Like I said, you both have good points, I'm not here to debate, although I believe that's kind of what I'm doing now.
I only meant we should listen to those who have studied the phenomenon rather than a random "mouth piece" who just spouts keywords from pre-written speeches.
I agree with you, however, I believe all her facts come straight from professionals in that field who have studied climate change and global warming. Professionals have been trying to warn us for years that we're a dying world, who listened to them? not many people.
That may be true, but the only thing I heard from her was anger and blame, no figures, no facts, no ideas to make it better. She only said that we should put the world before profits, which is true to an extent. However, if you don't think about profits at all, then billions of people will still die because there will be no money or jobs left to support them. That's why a calm, rational plan needs to be put in place, not knee-jerk reactions to an angry little girl giving a speech.
I'm curious as to how many of her speeches you have seen. She's stated plenty of facts, she usually begins with stats and she's stated plenty of times we need to cut our carbon emissions, limit our fossil fuel usage and implement creative ways into our daily lives to make our wastage and co2 emissions smaller. I think at this point, anyone who is willing to speak out about stuff like this deserves some credit. People have been trying for years (like I said before, even many professionals) and no one has listened, until now. I agree we need a plan but no one's going to do that unless we actually talk about how important this problem is and if we need an "angry little girl" to get people talking then so be it.
Interesting video thank you, I do agree the Cimate movement has to be wayyyy less political. I have to do some more reading on that video but that other link you sent is awful, 90%?
I'm not sure what it has to do with our discussion but it was a good read nevertheless, I'm upset most of our objects and disposed items are made of plastic that will take eons to break down but they're making some efforts to do something about it.

Trump committed crimes and has made it clear he plans to commit more. Not impeaching him would be insane.
Sarcasm?
It's possible that like half of Congress was going to pedophile island. That would mean that the whole of American government isn't just corrupt, but child molesting perverts
I'm glad it's happening. They're going to find something better than nothing. They're going to find shit that implicates President Trump's opposition. And on top of it, it's just going to hurt to left as more and more people see their desperate and damaging attempts to undermine our legitimate executive and the republic in general.
Every day the dems' candidates get more and more extreme. Backing the likes of Antifa, pledging to kill the 2nd amendment and everything to do with due process, even publicly hoping for an economic downturn just to hurt the orange man. Just goes to so how disconnected they all are from the little guy. Especially those last few.
Nearly all of congress and high political powers are disconnected from the little guy. I don’t see why dems are solely being blamed for all the fuckwits in office. I’m not defending dems, by the way, I’m calling them all out. Neither rich republicans nor democrats have your best interest at heart, I promise.
Trump and his ilk at least aren't trying to disarm me or turn into everything my grandfathers fought against, nor indenture us to euro or anyone else's interests.
I can see you missed my point entirely. The point was that neither parties in whole are for you. Your party just so happens to share certain values you hold, not because they care, but because it serves them. I’ve always hated the “lesser of two evils” argument. You know, just because you don’t support what the dems are doing doesn’t mean that republicans are part of a holy brigade bringing you a slice of personal heaven. I don’t see why you’re unable to accept that both parties are trash and need cleaning of house. Your response can be defined as one of denial. I’m not in denial of what you’ve said. I’ve accepted dems are shitty, and haven’t argued otherwise; and yet, your response is structured as if I was defending them. I didn’t even mention Trump, but you explicitly defended him. That’s odd, what you’re doing. Again, my point is we need a massive reform. Doesn’t matter the party.
@famousone@1_puma is right, your response was in total defense, and unprovoked; you chose a specific person to defend that wasn’t even mentioned, and then acted as though he was arguing against your view of the democratic party. I’m not sure I follow your logic when it comes to discussion of politics...
It's not about "evils". Nobody gets anywhere in politics keeping their noses clean. It's about who is butting out of my life, cutting off countries that don't care about or respect us, and not pissing on our laws. I'm not in denial, I'm pissed at the faux outrage, particularly how it only seems to be directed only at the guys who, for once, actually aren't fucking up.
Uh, yeah. Trump is fucking up. Has been. Will continue to do so. The impeachment is happening, for a reason, it's completely justified. Anything in refute to that, is denial.
@famousone The thing is, even though I don’t claim to know his direct crimes, if the crimes are present and in your face in clear documented form, you still wouldn’t believe the accusations. I’m just saying man, your behavior leads me to believe you can’t be swayed, even if there were undeniable truths present.

52 USC 30121. The FEC Chair has confirmed what Trump did is a crime.
You cannot try someone for crime in America without charging the suspect. Get the house to actually back impeachment, bipartisan, and I'll sing a different tune.
If the FEC Chairwoman was an actual authority and not a partisan hack, maybe her work would mean something. As things are, I've read the transcript. It's never been illegal for a President to inquire about wrongdoings by an American national, particularly not wrongdoings committed with the threat of withholding billions of dollars of foreign aid and ruining a foreign official's life and career.
Now, some politicians who did solicit and accept foreign interference into the election, with actual evidence to the crime, well... y'all wouldn't like that list.
I'm also kinda curious who's leveling the charges. Last I checked, the house didn't vote to impeach. And if they did, they wouldn't be fighting so hard to exclude Republicans and do everything behind closed doors. Where's that "evidence" Schiff promised us? Where's the due process? Since when can a whistle be blown with hearsay and by someone openly and personally invested in tearing the administration down? And we're supposed up believe a word any of them say?

If you believe Trump over everyone else, I think we are well past the possibility of facts having an impact.
The chair of the FEC is not a partisan hack. Decorated war veterans who volunteered for an unpopular war and then dedicated their lives to public service are not partisan hacks.
If Trump isn't guilty why try to supress witnesses? Why hide documents? Why classify this call, which is itself illegal, and hide the records?
There is NO requirement to hold a vote to issue subpoenas, Republicans got rid of it during the Obama years. Due process is being followed young man. You HAVE been presented with facts, for years now. You just reject everything that doesn't match your childish "libruls r weak N hate murica" outlook.
Congress doesnt even have to have a vote yet. You dont need a vote to launch an inquiry which this is. You need a vote to issue papers of impeachment and then try him in the senate.

@jdudkiewicz
Stop calling him "young man" and present cited sources, or nobody will believe what you're saying. When asked to present sources and facts, you replied "You HAVE been presented with facts" instead of providing any yourself.
It doesn't look good for your credibility if you can't clearly state what Trump is guilty of.
Is it high treason? Russian collusion? Coercion of foreign bodies to influence an election?
You've got so many options, and you still fail to clearly articulate what might make him guilty and worthy of impeachment.
The FEC chair is a partisan hack.
My brothers in arms happen to quite like Trump compared to other politicians, especially the last CIC.
The whole mess is illegitimate until a vote is made. The House can impeach. Not individual representatives. And the Executive still has both his privilege and the same rights as any other American under investigation.
If you're innocent why do you need to say so? Why do you need a right to a lawyer? Or a trial? Why not give cops and officials a key to your house and all your lock combos? Also, POTUS has authority to classify or declassify whatever he wants. And since when is it illegal for a head of state to contact another? History demonstrates countless times when a direct line averted calamity, and times when one would've prevented tragedy.
As for the subpoenas. No lawyers, cross-examination, defense witnesses, or any semblance of transparency (or at least letting to opposing party see what's going on).
Now please, insulting, demeaning, or being condescending is making it difficult to be civil with you. And you can stop with the whataboutism too, that's a game neither of us can win and I'm a constitutionalist libertarian, or classical liberal, so don't expect me jump on the GOP's dick when they fuck up. They just aren't fucking up as much as the left is right now.
Its not illegal for Trump to call a foreign leader. It is illegal for him to solicit assistance from a foreign leader in a domestic election. It shouldnt matter that "other" politicians have done this. Its unacceptable period and we the people have the right to say so. Fox news itself reported that 51% of polled americans support impeachment. Thats a significant increase from 42% in July. Letting this go is silently accepting that this behavior is ok. If it came out that Obama called up Mexico and asked for them to investigate Mitt Romney he'd be in the same shit and I would feel the exact same about it as I do now. But we dont know if he did for sure. We KNOW Trump did. Forget parties this is not ok and the fact that the GOP is blindly supporting the man shows me that they care more about their seat and the party than the principles that hold this country together. AND BOTH parties demonization of any view other than their own is tearing this country apart.
Edit: spelling
You mean the part where we he wanted an investigation against a Ukraine based company his political rivals solicited false information from, or him wanting to investigate Biden bragging on tape about how he threatened to withhold billions of dollars worth of aid if Ukraine didn't do him and his son some personal favors?
Also, I don't give a shit about any polls conducted by any media source. Or any source period. CNN, FOX, freaking Cartoon Network. Doesn't matter, I know too much about manipulating them to trust any of them.
Far too many half-truths and outright lies, demeaning and insulting the opposition, selective reporting, poll manipulation, no accountability, minimal integrity. And I've never lived to see this not being the case.
McCain was a white supremacist, Romney was a literal Nazi, Obama was Kenyan, Trump is Putin's cocksleeve.
Blacks are stuck on the Democrat plantation, stupid whites vote against their own interests, radical Islamists are just misunderstood and those brutish Marine invaders are the real terrorists.
Punch a Nazi, fags go to Hell.
You stole my future, ownership is selfish and industry is evil. This thing I like is a human right, living wage, I'm entitled to, gimme gimme gimme.
Shut the fuck up and butt out of my life. Get your hands out of my pockets and stop trying to punish me for things that happened a hundred years ago a thousand miles away. Stop ignoring the good around us all, stop acting like the end is near and it's the west's fault. STOP MAKING ME DEFEND TRUMP
I take it those where all examples of the lies you were told. I find it really hard to find reliable information too man. I wont make you defend Trump. I would however encourage you going forward to look at as many sources as you can of different platforms be it a news media or some random joe. Compare what you get. Even make an effort to talk to someone whos views differ from yours with civility. Listen to them and they should do the same if not move on. The reason we have a partisan society now is because everyone is being told the other is lying to them and is out to get them. Public trust is the lowest it has ever been. Both sides do it. They prey on our fear and ignorance. We as citizens need to turn our attention to solving problems not winning the argument. And we can only do that by listening.
Epstein: important to reach results of investigation. Important to bring those accused to justice.
Greta: important to acknowledge her influence. Important to choose another leader that isn’t a child. Important to focus on environment.
Trump: important to investigate using third-parties, and yield results not from inside his circle. Important to consider impeachment if crimes are true and severe.
Not important: calling Greta a brat.
Also not important: calling one of these three topics unimportant just because you disagree with a sentiment toward one of these issues.
OK, so any time somebody dies in custody, that is really bad and warrants serious independent investigation -- but people keep saying stuff like "killed just before he revealed thousands of names" that has no basis in reality.

What about when someone is suddenly taken off of suicide watch, the guards all happen to not be paying attention to the one guy they're being paid to watch, and the security cameras just stop working for the 24 hrs that the leader of a celebrity pedophile ring happens to commit suicide, and now nobody has seen the body since.
