I looked it up again and of the 1,115 deaths reported, 1,114 have been reported from China, 1 from the Philippines. So it's literally one exception. So even though 44,665 Chinese people have been confirmed to have the virus, in the 514 other countries only one person has died.
So whereas 1 in 514 persons died that doesn't live in China, around 87 in 514 persons died in China.
Be Alert not Anxious. It'll strike the same way flu does. It can kill, and can be especially troublesome for people living in first world countries suffering from problems they are actively being treated for. Its why Asthmatics are urged so strongly to get flu shots, because the immune systems and the lungs are already weaker and susceptible to infection (pneumonia)
So whereas 1 in 514 persons died that doesn't live in China, around 87 in 514 persons died in China.
