For me, with what was said, I picture a very flamboyant male barista.

Huh, I assumed it was a guy, but looking back, I had no reason to, especially as the vast majority of baristas I've seen in my life were girls. Am a boy FYI

I actually don't tend to assume people are girls until given context. If I'm not given context then I usually default to it being a guy because I've encountered more guys than girls on the interwebz
