I just bend over and rinse my hair with cold water and then put it in a towel and finish my shower with warm water.

Though I did used to take cold showers when I was younger... but impossible to shave like that
Likewise, well- not the shaving part. I shave dry. But I’ll turn the water to cold while I wash my hair, then hot, but I do hit the splash of cold at the end. Lol. Of course, I’m tall, so there are few showers where it isn’t very easy for me to keep my hair out of the hot water while it is running.
I also mean- no water, gel, cream, etc. me, a razor, and a mirror. Sometimes no mirror (for non face.) I don’t like to rely on things too much that are luxuries like water. It’s easy enough to find yourself in situations where you could use a shave or need to take pills and not have water.
How do you not get bumps/cuts/burns?!?! *Pshhh men. Also I can't wash my hair with cold water the soap/shampoo sticks to my hair, I have thick hair. So I take looong showers for that reason and then the dreadful shave another hour (if I'm lucky).
I'm the type of person who just "figures stuff out and wings it" and somehow I didn't know you were supposed to use water, thought people liked to shave in the shower to get rid of the hair easily... But I've never gotten bumps and I'm a girl :p (Don't worry life is kinda fair I got other problems to compensate)
As dragon baby says- I’ll often shave in the tub- as in standing in it- so the all the hair is easier to get rid of (although if you have so so or older plumbing/septic tanks this can be problematic..) as for bumps and such.... I shave against the grain of the hair to get a closer shave. I have no idea if that plays a part. I don’t “press” the razor into my skin, if it’s sharp it isn’t needed. If it is dull, I angle it and stretch the skin and use as little pressure as needed to get the job done. Bumps... I suppose I just don’t get them?
But in fairness- the sensitivity of people’s skin differs and is often but not always related to its “toughness.” Most of my life has not afforded me the luxury of having sensitive skin or such things- or at least not the luxury to humor them. If you do that long enough, discomfort becomes normal, the body and mind often adapt, and it’s no longer a concern. So I probably just never had particularly sensitive skin to start- and whatever illusions it had about being pampered were shattered early in its career as my epidermis. But by no means do I believe that all people should dry shave- and for many legitimate biology may make it all but unthinkable to do so.

And @honeybumblebee same. I have to rinse with warm/hot water first but then I finish with cold
