Depends on the amount of land that comes with the modest house... financially the high tech house in the city would more than likely be worth more. Could always sell the city house and find a modest home thats location would be a good mix of both.
City, actually. I already live in an apartment in a noisy city, so not only I'm already used to that, but most cities have beautiful green spaces almost like the wilderness. Besides, I find it to be a calming feeling to know that there are so many people around you that you are practically invisible and left alone.
I love busy cities because they are loud, and I hate quiet, slow places, but my dream is still to live the woods. I could play music for some noise. I honestly want to live in a treehouse or cabin or cute little home, surrounded by trees and nature.
Why does everyone only care about Wifi and nothing else. I always wanted to live in the city until i experienced the country life and it is AMAZING! I understand that people have other needs and opinion, but wifi? Really? What has the world become. I just can't believe that some people swoop as low as "Wifi" being their excuse
Or that you can have the best of both, I live in the country (nearest neighbor is a mile away, nearest town is 20) and I have internet, not that I have time to use it much.

I live in apartments now and the thought of the closest neighbor being a mile away sounds like heaven to me.
The only problem I had *was* my closest neighbor being a drunk that liked to tear things up but he's currently jailed so it's peaceful for now, just me and my animals.

I don't understand why my comment got downvoted...
I don't even own a tv at the moment a lightning strike took it out (with around 70% of my appliances) about a year ago and its really low on my list of things to replace.

Damn. Well it's a British stop motion animation about a flock of sheep and other assorted animals and their farmer. For some reason I picture you as the farmer. I don't know why, but it amuses me.
I am kind of old school and far from afraid to speak my mind, although I don't have glasses (too dangerous around cows) you could probably pick me out of a crowd pretty easily since most of my clothes are pushing the decade mark and stained up.

What's the point of newer clothes if they're just going to get stained anyway? Makes sense.
And I'm glad you don't mind the comparison... It just makes me laugh more at your comments. :)
I'm rarely in public anyhow except to get the few supplies I don't/can't produce myself (haven't quite perfected homemade toilet paper yet, lol) And even if I am I'm not out to impress anybody and really don't care what anybody thinks about me, my clothes are clean and most of the stains are iodine anyway.

Oh good lord, homemade toilet paper! (I almost snorted from laughing at that!)
Being mostly self sufficient is a dream of mine someday when I get my dream house in the country. That would be so nice.
Why are the stains iodine?
Its used to clean the udders on the cows prior to milking, its washed off before the actual milking but it's just a sterilizer, and its also used to dry up umbilical cords and other wounds, so it's pretty much everywhere. I'm close to self sufficient, I've started to build a solar array for at least some of my power needs but most of my equipment makes that kind of pointless (energy hog things like the milking equipment and meat locker) but that won't be online until sometime next year.
In the woods. Its my dream to live there in a simple cabin/home. I want to live there because i have trouble sleeping with the street lights at night, cars RACING by and people talking loudly outside. Only thing i should be hearing in the woods is owls, the wind and other animals. Thats why it is my dream.
There's a picture, although it's more that what little of your personality I see in your comments reminds me of how he acts in the show/movie.
