Although you have a point, I do think the law should be changed so that the default choice is "Yes, I agree to donate my organs". If for any personnal reason you chose not to do so its ok, but if you don't care enough to take the time to NOT be an organ donor then surely you don't mind being a donor. Whereas I believe many people wouldn't mind being donors but just didn't take the time to do it (such as myself, although I'm only 20 so I don't intend on dying any time soon).
Simply changing that could drastically increase the amount of donors while at the same time preserving the right for people to do whatever the fuck they want with their bodies.
But what if you come back as a ghost, and all your organs are gone. I may need my kidneys for ghosts pisses, I'll definitely need my heart so I can fall in love with another ghost, and if that happens I'll need my testicals for ghost babies, and my lungs so I can smoke ghost cigarettes.
I'm not sure if you can donate your balls, but still.
I'm a believer in bodily autonomy. I'm not a religious person, but clearly religion is heavily influential on some people's lives. And many people want open-casket funerals. I do want to change my status to a donor, but I won't force people to give up what is widely considered a basic right.
While I am willing to donate my organs when I pass I believe every one has the right to decide whether they want to or not. I would like that people would because there is such a long list of individuals that are waiting for an organ transplant but at the end of the day people have the right to choose. To me this is one of those gray areas that has no right or wrong answer It's just up to the individual to make that choice on their own.
Not sure what religion is against this, but I'm a Christian and I'm an organ donor.
If when we die we could help out another who could then go on to live a long life, why would any god be against that?
Huh. That's weird.
I'm christian as well and as soon as they asked if I wanted to bd an orgsn donor I didn't even give it a second thought. Why do I need any of that stuff when I die?
Watch Tower Society publications teach that the Witnesses' refusal of transfusions of whole blood or its four primary components—red cells, white cells, platelets and plasma—is a non-negotiable religious stand and that those who respect life as a gift from God do not try to sustain life by taking in blood,[4][5] even in an emergency.[6] Witnesses are taught that the use of fractions such as albumin, immunoglobulins and hemophiliac preparations are "not absolutely prohibited", and are instead a matter of personal choice.
Doesn't it have to be a stroke? I mean, if someone dies normally they can't take his organs, but if the cause of death is stroke they can? Idk i thought it's this way o.o
Nope. As long as the person was healthy and the organs are safe, then they can be taken from donors. Only if the organs are unsuitable can they refuse them. Say if someone smoked or had hepatitis.
So.....the person is dead. They don't need their organs anymore. Why should they care if their organs are used again to help save lives? "But Dunkeh, it's disrespectful!" Shut the fuck up, I said take their organs, not the whole fucking corpse. "But.....muh religion!" Doesn't your religion teach you to be kind to others? If the person was religious, isn't saving a life one of the kindest, if not MOST kindest, things you can do?
Nah man. Sure, they're dead and they'll never know the difference, but it's still each person's choice. Bodily autonomy is key.
That said, I'm an organ donor but I wouldn't want to force someone to be against their will.
In Wales, you have to opt out of donating your organs. So basically, if I die tomorrow and haven't opted out, it means I have no objection and my organs could be used to help someone, which I'm pretty cool with.
Yeah sure. I'll give my liver away to an alcoholic with liver failure just so they can live longer and trash that too, while I actually cared about my body and kept it healthy. Sounds good.
What if that alcoholic's brain is eventually responsible for finding the cure for assholishness, guest.
I mean, it'd be too late for you, but you'd go down in the history books as the savior of generations to come.
Religious reasons for abstaining from donating I can take. But when a jehovinator prevents a child from receiving transfusions, they should lose control of the child, and then someone should slap them. Hard.

Oh, Wait...
"No."
"Can I have it?"
"No."
What the hell? Wait, maybe not the comparison I was looking for...
