Why? Nothing on here is mandatory to living a good life, and some of it is also just not a good idea in general [smoking and doing drugs for example, being arrested also tends not to be]
`
It's just a list, and the points are entirely arbitrary. All that matters is if you're living a life you can enjoy yourself
Fair, but I wanna get a piercing, meet a celeb (even just a minor one, like a voice actor), break the law (more), etc.
I spent pretty much all of my childhood in a religious cult, and I'm tired of being good!
.
(Don't plan to smoke or do drugs tho, my mom took enough ketamine and did enough crack when she was young, I'm not repeating her mistakes lmao)
.
Okay so maybe I'm okay with being kinda good, just not 100% of the time!
I've met a famous female cook from over my neck of the woods. I've broken the law on a few occasions when I was younger but not for a long time now. I've hot 1 piercing. And I've only smoked a few times no drugs though
Well can always find out if any comicons are happening near you when all this is over Lydia. I think you'd enjoy one from what you've said, and they usually have celebs there you can meet - be it cosplayers, actors, voice actors, artists, musicians sometimes, FX people, etc
I'd love to go to a comicon, iiiifff my anxiety let me. I faint when I'm stressed, and crowds are a big source of anxiety for me, so it'll be quite a while before i go to one, haha.
(Maybe if I brought someone close to me along, it would be better? My sister told me she's better with crowds when around her partner.)
I'm not a huge fan of crowds either haha, but I would definitely recommend bringing someone if it helps your anxiety :) it's always nice to have a friend, and some of the cons can have long lines so it can make wait-times a bit more bearable
`
Nice thing about comicons is:
-you can always wear a mask or something if that helps you feel a bit more comfortable haha (just make sure you can tolerate the heat etc)
`
-if you get a big con there is guaranteed to be people decked out in extremely impressive outfits, people with amazing artwork on display, and celebs around. So the chances of anyone paying you individually much attention is fairly slim
`
-if you get a smaller con there will be less to see, but you won't have to worry as much about crowds
They're not for everyone necessarily, but generally speaking if you're remotely a fan of comics or manga/anime or other "nerd/geek" culture there will be something there worth checking out.
`
There's often panels where celebs from popular shows or whatever can talk as well
`
Plus the amount people put into the truly good cosplays is always a sight in itself
`
I'm pretty sure they have some cons in Ireland
Meh. There's a lot of cosplayers - male and female - that dress pretty racy. There are also occasionally lingerie shops set up at conventions (and there are almost always steampunk and therefore corsets).
`
I think it's a balance - if you dress a certain way you accept that you are likely going to attract some unwanted attention, but no one should be pushing anything on you either. There are usually signs saying mantras like "cosplay is not consent" and resources at the cons I've gone to for cosplayers that feel harassed. Well, for the female cosplayers. No idea if they give a crap about the males or not
`
I've honestly never seen it turn into much of an issue when I've been - most people are just there to have fun, and they do just that.
`
Some cons have gone way off the deepend however and turned themselves into political soap boxes. So it can be helpful to research the con a bit ahead of time to see whether they're actually for the fans, as opposed to being for the "facists" :P
The first time I went to any kind of con (it was an Insomnia Gaming Convention (iirc), I certainly saw some... racy attire (I saw some skintight outfits, and god damn, as a 15 year old that was figuring out her sexuality, it certainly gave me some confusing feelings).
.
There was a youtuber there, DanTDM, I think?, but as most things were as a kid, we had to go early, thanks to family problems.
.
I'd be interested to go as an adult, but not for a while yet.
well different times of day can have different advantages. Tbh the first time I went I only got a one day pass. Ended up going the next day and upgrading to a weekend pass.
`
You'll see people in skintight outfits, in more or less bras and panties (sometimes also bodysuit), shirtless guys, etc. Idk I typically wasn't as interested in any of those outfits as the ones that were particularly accurate (or otherwise badass).
`
I remember seeing 4 Diablo (iirc) cosplayers one year. I have no idea how long their costumes took to make, or how they even made them, (or how they breathed inside them), but they were epic. The poor guys couldn't move 2 inches without people asking to take their pic haha. I don't think they minded though
`
^ most cosplayers are decently friendly and approachable about this stuff as well. Or the hobbyist ones are. The "professional" ones I've never really engaged with but heard mixed things
As for the free stuff... not really in my experience? Like sometimes if you purchase the more expensive passes they'll give you a goodiebag with it that might have like a shirt or water bottle or whatever in it
`
Most of the people at booths like artists alleys paid for a chance to be there, and are often trying very hard to make some money and raise awareness of their brand. They're usually very talented, but not necessarily celebrity status in their field, so their hope is to turn a profit of some kind
Good boi over here
EDIT: 15
.
Gotten a ticket and zip lining
See if you can guess which ones I’ve done

Also I won!
I plan to change that tho

It's not something to be proud of
